A New Look Online
Updated website, pictures and a supreme online experience
by Lindsay Tarnoff
Laughing Gull Chocolates got a new look this summer! You may have noticed some gorgeous, crisp photos of our chocolate products and confections, our chocolate-production process, and even pictures of us as business owners. The pictures have made their way onto our new comprehensive website as well as our social media! A huge thanks to Renee for all the photoshoots this spring and summer. We had a blast with you going through our multitude of chocolate (including many of the local ingredients we feature in our products!) and braving the streets of downtown Rochester for that perfect shot under our city’s sign. (Not all photos were quite so dangerous – we did a few shots at Martin Luther King, Jr Park and in front of Strong Museum as well, showing our love for all things local). We spent hours and hours (special shout out to Karla!) reviewing and revising all of the work that Susan from TechCreative completed. The final result? Beautiful pictures, stand out products, an easy to use online e-commerce site, and great storytelling. We’d love to hear your feedback through the holiday season. You can visit our website to book a virtual or in-person workshop, purchase Christmas and Hanukkah gifts (we even have a special Olive Oil and Herb truffle for Hanukkah and a Chocolate Advent Calendar to get excited for Christmas); you can even become a chocolate subscription box member right online! We hope you like the website and the pictures as much as we do. Let us know what you think!

Creating Community and Intimacy with Chocolate
AKA Xocola'j Almost three years ago, I wrote a blogpost about the quiche word xocola’j, which I encountered thanks to Megan Giller and Michael and Sophie Coe. Xocola’j is just one word that has a deeper, complex meaning: drinking chocolate together; connecting...
