Having a period – especially as a young person – is a whole experience. Our period kit makes the experience just a bit more pleasant, including education, a feel-good chocolate experience, and a gorgeous environmentally-friendly journal. Even better, this period kit gives back in two ways. We donate $12 to Support Your Sistah through The Afiya Center in Texas. In addition, for every 10 kits that we sell, we donate one period kit to a person in need through the P.A.D. Project.
This Period Kit includes the following:
– Laughing Gull Chocolates’ signature chocolate uterus (choose milk or dark). Our Mind Your Own Uterus chocolate was designed in September 2021, when the Supreme Court made the decision to reject the emergency request to intervene with SB8, effectively banning abortion in Texas. We partnered with
Unstrung Studios, locally owned and woman owned, to design a uterus that we made into a chocolate mold (valued at $9.99)
– Allie Push Arts’ Uterus Notebook: hand stitched and made from recycled paper. The art on the front cover is a hand printing linoleum cut designed by the artist. This notebook contains 64 blank pages and is perfect for tracking your cycle, journaling your feelings when your period gets tough, or your plans to smash the patriarchy (valued at $20)
– A Hormonoscope Personal Subscription and Wellness Plan, including Hormonoscope’s (3) month subscription text based cyclical education (valued at $33), a
30 minute hormone health consultation w/ Christina Kostar, certified Holistic Hormone Health Practitioner & Coach (valued at $50), and Guided Journal Prompts – a (1) Page Guide for getting into the mindset of partnering with and learning about your body, as well as journal prompts focused around positive cyclical affirmations.
More about Support Your Sistah and The Afiya Center
Support Your Sistah is a Practical Support Fund that assists abortion clients with transportation, drop in childcare and occassionally financial assistance to help cover procedure cost. They also offer abortion and birthing doulas support. At The Afiya Center they focus on Reproductive Autonomy. The Afiya Center (TAC) was established in response to the increasing disparities between HIV incidences worldwide and the extraordinary prevalence of HIV among Black women and girls in Texas. TAC is unique in that it is the only Reproductive Justice Organization in North Texas founded and directed by black women. Our mission is to serve Black women and girls by transforming their relationships with their sexual and reproductive health through addressing the consequences of Reproductive Oppression.
