Chocolate in the Air?

Autumn has long been my favorite season.

Cool crisp days. Cozy sweaters. Back to school. Vibrant colors in the trees. Hot chocolate, cider donuts. Apple picking. The crunch of leaves under my feet. And all of these elements come mixing and melding together with the High Holy Days.

As I bite into a crisp apple, the texture matches the cool fall air. (It will come!) In a 2018 blogpost, I shared how my husband and I met just after Yom Kippur, and on one of our first dates, strolled along a Providence river as we sipped hot apple cider. In Jewish tradition, apples and honey are symbolic of starting the new year sweetly. I love that every apple has a secret stored inside it – a secret star (shared with me and our congregation when I was a child). It reminds me that everyone shines in their own time, and in their own way. The New Year allows that fresh restart for everyone – we are all stars.

In that vein, every year, this time of year, we at Laughing Gull Chocolates carry special apple products just for the fall and High Holy Day season.

This coming Saturday, September 9, we will have Rosh Hashanah chocolate available in store – and we’ll have it through the season. Visit us, or check out our online store for shipping. Some of my favorites?
