Strawberry, Guajillo and Mango


Part of our “Taking Flight” Collection -we’ve dedicated this flavorful creation to the Tunki bird of Peru.

We’ve taken an amazing cacao from the Marañón River in Peru and infused it with dried strawberries and guajillo peppers. We added beautiful strips of dried mango to the back for a pop of color and flavor. The rich cacao compliments the acidic spicy inclusions including the colorful strips of dried mango. This pop of orange reminded us of the tunki bird, native to Peru. The tunki bird (tunki is the native Quechuan word, it is also known as Andean cock-in-the-rock) is the national bird of Peru and the males have bright orange coloring. While this bird technically is not classified as threatened, its habitats are beginning to dwindle due to deforestation and climate change reminding us of one of the many reasons we source ethically- like this Peruvian chocolate made in-house by our talented chocolate makers and chocolatiers.
