A Caffeinated Cocktail Trend

Have you had an espresso martini recently? Before this week, I had never had one. Let me tell you about the salted caramel chocolate espresso martini that we made. I don’t have much to compare it to but I can tell you that everyone who tried it couldn’t get enough! Want to know how we made it??
Here’s a hint: it had a secret ingredient we made with our salted caramel sauce and Tanzania cocoa powder from Meridian Cacao. To find out more, visit our Instagram page and comment on our reel to get the recipe for our delectable clean salted caramel chocolate syrup!

Making Time to Indulge

I’ve been trying to find small ways to indulge in myself. It’s not always easy to take care of myself – a busy mom of three (including a 6 month old), running a business and fitting in volunteer hours when I can. I’m sure many can relate.  So when I started seeing espresso martinis pop up, I knew I needed to get out soon. And then I kept seeing espresso martinis all over the place. You may have seen that locals Breezy and Natalie Rae started an online review of Rochester’s espresso martinis. Not only that, but just this past Friday, Tracy Schumacher published an article in The Democrat and Chronicle just published an article talking about the comeback of this drink first popularized in the 80s.

Our Recipe: A Salted Caramel Chocolate Espresso Martini

Maybe it’s a salted caramel mocha martini?

Either way, it was delicious. Here’s how we made it:

1. Make a super secret special salted caramel chocolate syrup.

2. Ice (preferably pumpkin shaped, but not necessary!) into the shaker.

3. Pour two ounces vodka into shaker. Add 1 1/2 oz salted caramel chocolate syrup and 1 1/2 oz coffee.

4. Shake, shake, shake until you have a good amount of foam formed.

5. Pour into martini glass. A garnish of coffee beans is traditional but we prefer to garnish with cacao nibs.

6. Enjoy!
